SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
It's beginning to look a lot like autumn. A wind advisory covering parts of Southern California through Monday night will give way to cooler temperatures and a chance of scattered showers.

A 16-year-old climbed a 75-foot voltage tower in Sylmar and then jumped off of it due to what the Los Angeles Fire department said was a psychological emergency. He was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Just a few hours later, a woman in dark clothing was seen in the center divider of the I-10 Freeway near Banning, then running along the freeway’s right shoulder. She was fatally struck shortly after.

Authorities praised the heroism of bystanders in Los Angeles who intervened to save an 11-year-old girl from a man who groped her and attempted to kidnap her.
And the hero of Game 1 in the World Series was a SoCal native who hit the World Series' first-ever walk-off grand slam to win the game for the Dodgers. It took nearly 700 World Series games for anyone to pull it off, and the slugger attributed the moment to his father, who raised him and practiced batting with him every day in the backyard.
In other news, the fallout continues for Los Angeles City Council candidate Ysabel Jurado, who was recorded saying, “F_ the police” in leaked audio at a Cal State LA event last week. She is facing pressure to withdraw from the race after the controversial comments.
In happier news, Shohei Ohtani will play in Monday’s Game 3 of the World Series after a shoulder injury.
