Small Plane Crashes Near Burbank Boulevard
Two people were in the plane that crashed in a field and landed upside down Thursday morning.
LOS ANGELES, CA —A small airplane crashed in the Sepulveda Basin Thursday morning, skidding to a halt upside down in a field. The plane's occupants managed to escape without major injuries.
The crash involving a 1968 Cessna occurred not far from the Van Nuys airport, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Paramedics were called to the scene in the 15300 block of West Burbank Boulevard at about 7:10 a.m. Thursday, according to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
When they arrived, they found a man and a woman had safely exited the overturned plane, she said.

"Both patients — neither appear to have life-threatening injuries — have declined LAFD transport and will be released on scene," said Stewart.
The National Transportation Safety Board, and the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating the crash.
