LOS ANGELES, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you have have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

One of the biggest stories in California over the weekend was the atmospheric-river fueled storm that brought heavy rain up and down the state, knocking out power to more than a million people. Flash floods pose a great risk as several communities in Los Angeles and Orange counties were evacuated ahead of the rain.

It appeared many took officials' advice to stay off the roads, as traffic problems were kept to a minimum Sunday evening. But in the San Fernando Valley, several drivers had to be rescued — by boat — when an intersection left them trapped in up to three feet of water.

Others took advantage of the flooded roads: In Ventura, CBS LA news cameras caught one person, pulled by a pickup truck, surfing down a residential street.

The National Weather Service says the storm will remain a "major threat" through Tuesday, with the rain likely not letting up much until Tuesday morning. Flooding could become an even bigger concern Monday, and forecasters say mudslides, fallen trees and power outages are all guaranteed to occur.

Coast Guard officials are still searching for a man who hasn't been seen since he set sail from Long Beach last month on a voyage to Hawaii. Officials say the man's boat lacked the recommended redundant communication systems.
