Suspected Serial Rapist From LA County Faces Life In Prison

According to the LA County District Attorney's Office, the man is charged in a 26-count indictment that involves 11 victims.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspected serial rapist was charged in a 26-count indictment involving 11 victims in Los Angeles County with incidents ranging back 10 years, authorities announced Wednesday.

A grand jury indictment unsealed Monday charges 42-year-old Terrance Hawkins of Los Angeles with:

  • 10 counts of forcible rape, one count of forcible sexual penetration;
  • one count of rape of an unconscious person;
  • four counts of inflicting harm on a significant other causing traumatic condition with aprior conviction for a similar offense;
  • five counts of inflicting injury on a significant other causing traumatic condition;
  • three counts of stalking;
  • one count of cruelty to an animal;
  • one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

Hawkins is accused of physically and sexually assaulting women he was dating from 2014 to 2023 throughout the county. If convicted of all charges, Hawkins faces life in prison.

“This is a truly egregious case and I want to acknowledge and commend the bravery of the women who have come forward to share their painful experiences. It takes incredible courage to speak out, especially when facing such trauma,” District Attorney Gascón said. “My office remains steadfast in supporting survivors and ensuring that abusers are held accountable.”

Hawkins, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, is due back in court on Oct.21 for his pretrial hearing.
