CBS 2 reported CAL Fire has expanded the mandatory evacuation area to west of the Golden State Freeway.

The Foothill Freeway in Sylmar was closed in both directions and the connector to the southbound Golden State Freeway was also closed as of 2 a.m.

Anyone in an evacuation warning area is advised to prepare to evacuate, according to the fire department.

"Back the car into the driveway, open garage doors, collected pets into one room so they are easier to gather, and put your “go bag” and other things you want to take with you in the car," the Los Angeles Fire Department warned. "If you are in the evacuation warning area and will need additional time to evacuate, leave now. If you see sparks or embers in your neighborhood or feel threatened by the fire, leave now."

It is one of three major wildfires burning in Los Angeles County amid one of the worst Santa Ana windstorms in more than a decade.
