Teen Girl Disappears While Riding Bike To Visit Family In LA County

A 15-year-old girl has been missing for almost a week after vanishing during a bike ride to a relative's house in LA County, police said.

MONTEREY PARK, CA — A 15-year-old girl has been missing for almost a week after she set off on her bike to visit relatives and never arrived, according to the Monterey Park Police Department.

At about 5:32 p.m. on July 16, Alison Jillian Chao left her father's house in the 200 block of North Ynez Avenue in Monterey Park. Alison was last seen on Ring camera at about 6:23 p.m. on a blue mountain bike headed for her aunt's house in San Gabriel.

At the time of her disappearance, Alison was carrying a black backpack and was wearing a purple T-shirt, black shorts and dark shoes. She's described as an Asian girl around 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 96 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Alison's mother Annie Chao told KTLA that Alison is a straight-A student and has no history of running away. Since she went missing, Alison has made no contact with any friends and her social media accounts have gone quiet, her mother said.

Law enforcement and the family have been canvassing neighborhoods in the area to look for Alison.
