Traffic Impacts Continue After Big-Rig Strikes 10 Freeway Overpass

LOS ANGELES, CA — Traffic is expected to continue to be impacted on the 10 Freeway Monday afternoon after a big rig collided with an overpass.

The truck traveling on the westbound 10 Freeway struck an an overpass connecting the southbound 405 Freeway to the eastbound 10 Monday morning, sending debris onto the road and prompting lane closures just before 7 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two westbound lanes were initially closed following the crash as a heavy-duty tow truck was summoned to the scene and the overpass was inspected for structural damage, according to the CHP.

All westbound lanes of the 10 were closed shortly after as Caltrans cleaned up the debris.

By noon, all lanes had been reopened except for one of the Robertson Boulevard offramp lanes from the westbound 10. The lane is expected to reopen by 3 p.m., according to a Sigalert.
