Trump Blames Rob Reiner's Killing On 'Mind Crippling Disease'
President Donald Trump says he believes "Trump derangement syndrome" is behind the killing of Rob Reiner and his wife.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The day after filmmaker and liberal activist Rob Reiner and his wife were found killed inside their home, President Donald Trump suggested that their deaths were connected to Reiner's opposition to the president.
Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead in their Brentwood home Sunday afternoon. Their son — Nick Reiner, 32 — was arrested on suspicion of killing them the following morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
While police have given no indication as to what may have motivated the killing, Trump posted on social media that he believes Reiner's dislike of Trump is to blame.

"Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS," Trump wrote.
"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before," the post continues.

Trump has a personal connection to Michele Singer Reiner.
Reiner, a photographer, took the cover image of Trump's 1987 book "The Art of the Deal," the Associated Press reported.
Reiner was one of the most active Democrats in the film industry, regularly campaigning on behalf of liberal causes and hosting fundraisers. He was a vocal critic of Trump, calling him in a 2017 interview with Variety “mentally unfit” to be president and “the single-most unqualified human being to ever assume the presidency of the United States.”
The comments were met with quick derision by some Republican detractors of the president who blasted the remarks as disrespectful.
"Regardless of how you felt about Rob Reiner, this is inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered," Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, wrote on social media. "I guess my elected GOP colleagues, the VP, and White House staff will just ignore it because they're afraid? I challenge anyone to defend it."
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, R-Georgia, who was once a staunch Trump supporter but has recently parted ways with the president, also blasted the Truth Social post.
"Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak," Greene wrote on X. "Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It's incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder."
