Urgent to Save Dogs’ Lives: Beautiful Dogs at Carson / Gardena Animal Care Center in Need of Loving Homes
Please step up today to foster or adopt. These dogs are urgent and need foster/adopter urgently. Walnut at Devore also needs help today.
Beautiful, loving dogs at Carson/Gardena Animal Care Center urgently need fosters, rescue partners, and adopters to step forward now to save their lives. Many of the dogs featured in this article have been given final notice, and some need placement today.
Recent updates show what is possible when fosters and adopters step up. Lil Lady has been adopted, and dogs such as Jack, Guillermo, Best Boy, and Blue were saved because people opened their hearts and homes. When fosters and adopters step up, lives are saved — and all of the urgent pups still waiting deserve loving homes too and need you today.
Fragile is a two-year-old, spunky female German Shepherd who is full of life and love. She is high energy and would thrive with someone who enjoys running, hiking, and outdoor adventures, but she is just as happy hanging out and enjoying belly rubs. Fragile is very dog friendly, super sweet, and eager to bond with her person. Her Animal ID number is A5741405.
Zeus, seven years old, urgently needs a loving home. Zeus will need a home without cats and will benefit from thoughtful introductions with other dogs. According to the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Instagram page, he is selective with dogs but does engage and play once acclimated. Zeus needs help quickly and is a beautiful dog who deserves a calm, committed home. His Animal ID number is A5741787.
Also urgent are Bruce and Bumble, two beautiful pit bulls who arrived at the shelter together as strays.
Bruce (Animal ID A5743073) is a five-year-old brindle, intact male who is absolutely adorable. Bumble (Animal ID A5743076) is an intact female, approximately three years old and around 52 pounds. It appears they were running together for some time before being brought in. A foster is needed for these beautiful pups with an Adoption Partner with an indemnity waiver, and the Adoption Partner must have the required insurance coverage. They deserve a chance to live out their full lives in a loving home.
Ferdinand (Animal ID A5746490) is a male Cane Corso mix who was brought in as an owner surrender. He is calm and low energy and is recommended to be made available to rescue only with a foster. Ferdinand would do best in a household with calm dogs. Full information about beautiful Ferdinand is available on the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Instagram page.
Tyrone (Animal ID A5553735) is an altered male, three-year-old German Shepherd who urgently needs help. Tyrone needs an Adoption Partner aka a rescue with an indemnity waiver, and a foster is needed. He was surrendered with his sister Shelby (Animal ID A5744469). They lived in a home with children and got along with large dogs. Shelby is a five-year-old Shepherd mix who does best with calm dogs. If possible, a foster who could keep Tyrone and Shelby together would be wonderful. Please contact the shelter urgently, as Tyrone and Shelby need help now. It would be wonderful if they could stay together by being rescued together.
Buck (Animal ID#5741891) is adorable and described as friendly. He will do best in a home with adults only and with no other dogs. He is 1 year 7 months old, Pittie mix who is brown and white. Buck is urgent too, and needs a foster and rescue, or an adopter to save his precious life.
Also urgent is a beautiful French Bulldog currently on medical notification who needs a foster immediately. He was found in Inglewood and does not yet have a name, but he deserves one — and a loving home. Let’s call him Frenchie. When inquiring about him, please reference his Animal ID number A5747468.
Army (Animal ID A5745834) is a sweet, beautiful two-year-old terrier who needs a rescue and a foster. Army is kind and deserving of a loving home where she can feel safe and cared for.

Dogs are family, and all of these pups — and everyone in need of a home at the Carson shelter (and all shelters) — deserve the chance to live out their full lives in loving, compassionate, kind, and responsible homes, surrounded by care, safety, and love.
An immensely heartbreaking update: Since the time of writing this article, Bruce and Bumble were euthanized at the shelter on the morning of January 8th. These precious souls deserved the chance to live out their full lives with love, compassion, and safety. Please hold them in your hearts and prayers. Their loss underscores how urgent this crisis is. It is imperative that the public steps up immediately to help save the remaining dogs in this article through fostering or adoption. Please visit the shelter and call early if there is a dog you would like to foster or adopt — your action can help save a life.
The beautiful French Bulldog I endearingly call “Frenchie,” because he had not yet been given a name, was rescued just in the nick of time. The urgency to step up for these dogs matters so very much. .
Please also consider stepping up to help Walnut (A835194) and his sister Pecan (Animal ID A835195), two precious puppies who came into the shelter together and urgently need rescue from Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino. Walnut is the most urgent, as he is only four months old and is currently fighting for his life with pneumonia. He urgently needs a foster, rescue, and medical sponsor so he can receive the care he desperately needs and NOT be euthanized. Please follow the Instagram page: www,###a href="http://instagram.com/iloverescue" target="_blank" data-saferedirecturl="instagram.com/iloverescue" class="redactor-linkify-object">https://www.google.com/url?q=h... to message directly with this page also, if you can help sponsor medical or save a life.
Walnut must be out of the shelter by 2:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025, or the shelter plans to euthanize him. Pecan also urgently needs rescue, though she does not have the same immediate medical deadline, and if the same foster or rescue is able to step up for both of them, it would be a tremendous blessing for these siblings who came in together. Saving Walnut’s life in the nick of time — and giving both Walnut and Pecan a chance to leave the shelter safely — would truly be a miracle. Please help if you can.

Concluding this article, in loving memory of Jeff and Markie, two very sweet pit bulls who were euthanized at Carson/Gardena Animal Care Center, through no fault of their own. They were beautiful, kind souls who deserved the chance to live out their full lives — playing, knowing love and compassion, and enjoying each day as dogs do. They understood that life is a gift, and they wanted to live it. Jeff and Markie should never be forgotten, and they deserved love.
In their memory, please know that every dog mentioned in this article — and the many others still waiting — needs kind, responsible, and loving people to step up for them through fostering (with rescues supporting those fosters) and adoption. These actions save lives. Each dog is an individual, worthy of love, compassion, joy, and a safe home.
