Burglars' $100K Haul Included Pokémon Cards: PD

Four men were arrested on suspicion of stealing $100,000 worth of collectibles from an LA County trading card shop.

BURBANK, CA — Four men have been arrested in connection to the theft of some $100,000 in collectibles from a Burbank trading card shop.

The burglary occurred Dec. 2 at around 2 a.m. at LA Sports Cards on Olive Avenue, near Verdugo Avenue. Officers were dispatched while the burglary was in progress, according to the Burbank Police Department.

"Upon arrival, officers found evidence of forced entry at the front of the business and observed that the interior had been ransacked. The suspects had fled the scene before the officers’ arrival," police said.

Police determined that the thieves made off with $100,000 in high-value items, including Pokémon cards, rare sports cards and other collectibles.

Investigators served search warrants at two separate locations believed to be associated with the suspects they identified during their investigation, police said.

"During the searches, evidence linking the individuals to the burglary at LA Sports Cards was recovered," police said.

The suspects were all arrested on suspicion of felony burglary: Brian Chavez, 22, of Los Angeles; Jeremy Lopez, 22, of Los Angeles; Marco Barrongil, 26, of North Hollywood; and Elijah Garcia, 27, of Compton.
