Westridge School Senior Named 106th Rose Queen
Lindsay Charles, 17, of San Marino, a volunteer and captain of her school track and field team, will reign at the Tournament of Roses Parade

PASADENA, CA — Pasadena High School Senior Lindsay Charles was named the 106th Rose Queen Tuesday, an honor that she will lead the Rose Court through dozens of events culminating in the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game on Jan. 1.
Charles, a senior at Westridge School in Pasadena, was officially crowned Tuesday.
Charles, a resident of San Marino, is the jumps captain of the school track and field team, co-president of Food Chain LA, co-lead of Green Guerrillas club, co-lead of Multicultural/Multiracial Affinity, a member of Stemology for Kids and a former volunteer at Huntington Hospital.

She is fluent in Mandarin and enjoys gardening, neuroscience, hiking, journaling, drawing and collecting art, according to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.
She plans to study environmental science or neuroscience at New York University, University of Michigan, Barnard College, Santa Clara University, or the University of Washington, among others.

During the coronation ceremony, Charles was presented with a Mikimoto crown featuring more than 600 cultured pearls and six carats of diamonds.
"The 2025 Rose Queen and the 2025 Rose Court will attend numerous community and media functions, serving as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses, the Pasadena community, and the greater Los Angeles area," the Tournament of Roses Parade announced. "Each Rose Court member will receive a $7,500 educational scholarship from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses."
The additional members of the 2025 Rose Court includesm Lisette Parker, a senior at Maranatha High School; Saniyah Brunston, a senior at John Muir High School; Lara Georgian, a senior at Mayfield Senior School; Natalia Pradhan, a senior at Flintridge Preparatory School; Simone Ball, a senior at Arcadia High School; and Kate Kelly, a senior at La Cañada High School.
To qualify for spots on the Rose Court, applicants must identify as female, be between 17 and 21 years old, reside within the Pasadena Area Community College District and have at least a 2.0 grade-point average during the current and previous academic year. Applicants must be either a senior in high school or enrolled as a full-time student at any school or college within the Pasadena Area Community College District.
The members of the Court "highlight the mosaic of backgrounds and cultures that define the Pasadena community and exemplify character, service and leadership modeled through their commitment to family, school and community," according to the Tournament of Roses.
