LOS ANGELES, CA — Musicians will.i.am, Derrick "D-Nice" Jones and DJ Hed, and actor-philanthropist Etienne Maurice, will host a livestream event Thursday evening to support those impacted by the Los Angeles County wildfires.

The "LA Check In" event, streamed live on YouTube and Instagram at 6 p.m., will be broadcast from will.i.am's FYI Campus. It will include sets from D-Nice and DJ Hed and offer information about resources and feature "stories of hope," according to organizers.

The event is expected to include unidentified celebrity guests and "hometown heroes."

"When disaster strikes, it reminds us that we’re all in this together. LA CHECK IN is just another beam of light we hope to shine into a dark time," DJ Hed said in a statement.

Modeled after the "Club Quarantine" created by D-Nice in his living room during the COVID-19 pandemic, the LA Check In event is aimed at rejuvenating fire-affected residents "during a time of displacement and isolation," according the Annenberg Foundation and the i.am Angel Foundation, the event's sponsors.

"These fires ravaged Los Angeles and shocked communities everywhere with their rapid spread and vast devastation," Wallis Annenberg, chairman of the board, president and CEO of the Annenberg Foundation, said in a statement.

LA Check In will also provide information on ways to donate to first responders, evacuees, and about shelters for people who were already homeless before the fires, as well as displaced domestic, outdoor and day labor workers.

"The Annenberg Foundation has a long history of bearing witness to and catalyzing relief in the face of catastrophic events in California and we are thrilled ... to offer LA Check In as a way to support healing and share resources in this time of crisis."

LA Check In will be streamed live on D-Nice's Instagram and will.i.am's YouTube channel.
