Will Smith Returns to Social Media With Post About Invasive Arachnid

LOS ANGELES -- Five months after "the slap," Will Smith has returned to social media to show fans a huge tarantula crawling around his LA home.

Although he jokingly captioned his Instagram and TikTok video "Posting this from a Holiday Inn," it was indeed from his home where the huge arachnid was seen and ultimately caught.

The minute-long video, which was posted over the weekend, has received over 974,000 'likes' and counting. In it, Smith marvels over the size of the tarantula and even stands on a chair to keep his distance from it.

“We’re selling the house,” he jokes.

It was in March that Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards after Rock made a joke about Smith's wife, the actress Jada Pinkett Smith.
