Woman Fatally Shot In LA, Man Wounded

MAYWOOD, CA — Deputies found a man and a woman with gunshots wounds in a residential neighborhood of Maywood and the woman was later pronounced dead, officials said Sunday.

Deputies responded a little after 9:45 p.m. Saturday to the 3700 block of East 56th Street and discovered the wounded pair, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics rushed them to an area hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead and the man was being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest. His condition was not immediately known.
