Woman Rushed To Hospital From Apartment Fire In South LA

LOS ANGELES, CA — A 70-year-old woman was injured Saturday in a greater fire alarm fire at a two-story apartment building in South Los Angeles, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to 808 W. 68th St., just east of Vermont Avenue, at 12:19 p.m. Saturday and had the blaze out within 28 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The fire damaged one unit on the first floor of the two-story, 16-unit structure. The 70-year-old victim was rushed to a hospital, where her condition was not immediately available. A 73-year-old man at the location declined medical treatment.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
