Bolsa Chica State Beach Stabbing Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder
A man believed to be involved in a stabbing at Bolsa Chica State Beach this week was charged with two felonies, authorities said.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A man was charged Wednesday with a with attempted murder in connection to a stabbing at Bolsa Chica State Beach this week, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Michael Ryan, 48 of Huntington Beach, was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
HBPD responded to a request for aid from California State Parks Peace Officers at Bolsa Chica State Beach at about 4:45 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived, peace officers had already detained the suspect.

The victim, a man who had multiple stab wounds, was immediately taken to a local trauma center, police said. Police did not provide the victim's identity.
Ryan was arrested on suspicion of one count of attempted murder and was booked into jail with his bail set at $500,000.

Authorities believe the attack was an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing. No additional information was available.
