Candidates Sought To Fill Vacant City Council Seat In Los Alamitos
The City of Los Alamitos is looking to appoint a new council member to the city's second district. Here's what applicants should know.
LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The City of Los Alamitos is looking to appoint a member to fill a vacant City Council seat this October to serve on the dais until the next General Municipal Election on Nov. 5, 2024.
According to a city statement, the Los Alamitos City Council voted to appoint a member to fill the five-person council's District 2 seat at its Sept. 26 meeting.
Candidates interested in applying are encouraged to do so by submitting a cover letter, application and resume to the City Clerk's office no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

If you or a colleague are interested in applying for the seat, here's what you need to know:
- Qualified candidates must be a registered voter in District 2 of Los Alamitos.
- Qualified candidates must be available for a publicly televised interview at the Oct. 24 Los Alamitos City Council meeting.
- Postmarks will not be accepted and all applications must be submitted by the time and date of deadline.
