Los Alamitos Writing Course Created for Local Kids

The time has come for kids to head back to the classroom, and the city of Los Alamitos wants to make sure their writing skills are up to par.

Beginning on Sept. 26 the city's Recreation and Community Services Department will be offering a new class, "The Narrative Essay," for kids 9-16 year-old. The four-week class will teach a creative and engaging storytelling form of writing and focus on different elements including developing a central problem and solution, creating dialogue, using sensory details and formulating interesting characters.   

The class fee is $75 + $2 processing fee per 4-week session. Additional $10 material fee is payable to instructor at first meeting.  Classes will be held on Thursdays at Cypress Community Center, 5700 Orange Avenue.
