Orange County Opens Homeless Shelters Early

The homeless shelters, which will open one month earlier than usual, will provide up to 400 beds.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- Orange County will open its seasonal homeless shelters one month early this year.

The Santa Ana shelter, located at 612 E. Warner Ave., will open Monday, according to a press release by the County of Orange. The Fullerton shelter, located at 400 S. Brookhurst, will open on Nov. 16. Both shelters will provide up to 400 beds for people in need.

“The Armory Emergency Shelter Program is a vital link in our community’s efforts to take care of those
who lack proper shelter at night and to provide needed services,” said Supervisor Michelle Steel, who represents the second district, in a press release. “This program is possible due to the assistance of hundreds of volunteers from County agencies, churches and other community groups.”
