CYPRESS, CA — A popular bagel chain is celebrating the grand opening of a new location in Cypress by teaming up with an animal rescue non-profit this weekend.
Einstein Bros. Bagels will be teaming up with The Little Lion Foundation on Aug. 9 at the chain's new Cypress location at 6931 Katella Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature meet-and-greets with adoptable pets.
Customers who donate at least $5 in-store will receive a free egg sandwich or bagel with shmear, along with a coffee, according to a press release from Einstein Bros. Bagels on Monday. Cat toys, kitten food or blankets are also accepted as donations, the company said.

"We couldn’t be more excited to join the Walnut and Cypress communities and bring our fresh-baked bagels to our new neighbors,” Adam Modzel, Chief Operations Officer at Einstein Bros. Bagels, said in a statement Monday. “Both towns have a strong sense of pride, connection, and a love for good food, and kicking things off with a Give-Back Day at both new locations is the perfect way to introduce ourselves."
Customers at the Cypress location will also be eligible for a buy-one-get-one-free deal on egg sandwiches for the next two weeks, according to the company.
