Sand Berm Up In Seal Beach For Winter Season
The completed project comes after "king tide" conditions caused flooding earlier this month.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The seasons are changing, and so is the city's shoreline in Seal Beach.
According to Seal Beach Police Lieutenant Julia Clasby, the city completed construction of the annual winter sand berm this past week.
The berm is located from the Seal Beach Pier easterly to Dolphin Avenue.

The annual construction came soon after "King Tide" conditions caused flooding overnight near the Seal Beach Pier.
According to ABC 7, the fooding conditions resulted in water crawling right up to the edge of several beachfront homes.

The berm construction process is done periodically due to wave run-up transporting sand from the east beach to the west beach, Clasby said.
