Seal Beach City Council To Discuss Participating In National Lawsuit

City Council members will discuss whether or not to participate in a lawsuit against CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Allegran and TEVA.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Seal Beach City Council members will gather to meet Monday for their regular meeting, where they will discuss business ranging from contracting professional services for an environmental impact report to a presentation on the city's general plan.

The Seal Beach City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday in City Council Chambers, 211 Eighth Street, and all residents are invited to attend.

During the meeting, the city will decide whether or not to approve the city's participation in the national settlement of lawsuit against CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Allegran and TEVA for the impacts of the opioid addiction crisis.

If approved, the city would then choose whether or not to direct settlement proceeds to Orange County to use for authorized opioid substance abuse and prevention programs.
