Seal Beach Police Searching For T-Mobile Robbery Suspects

Seal Beach police said the robbery suspects fled the area in a gold-colored Lexus sedan.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The Seal Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding the suspects in an armed robbery at a T-Mobile store on Tuesday.

One suspect was described as a man in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket with dark jeans, Seal Beach police said.

A second suspect was described as a man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. Police said he was wearing a gray jacket with gray sweatpants.

The robbery happened around 3:29 p.m. at the T-Mobile store at 12800 Seal Beach Blvd, police said.

Surveillance footage from the store shows what appears to be a T-Mobile employee talking to the suspect in the black jacket. The suspect in the gray jacket walks into the store and heads to a cellphone display with his back turned to the employee.

Seal Beach police said the gray jacketed suspect was allegedly trying to steal the cellphones by cutting the attached security cables.

The T-Mobile employee notices the theft attempt and tries to stop the man in the gray jacket from leaving. The two get into a fight for several seconds.

Police said the man in the gray jacket got away from the employee and fled with the man in the black jacket in a gold-colored Lexus sedan before officers arrived.

A witness told Seal Beach police the man in the gray jacket held a gun in his hand during the fight, authorities said.
