Seal Beach Police To Wear Rainbow Patches For Pride Month

The patches will be worn to help raise awareness and support the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, police said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Seal Beach Police Department officers will wear a special uniform patch throughout June in recognition of Pride Month.

The rainbow-colored patch is part of an effort to raise awareness and support the local LGBTQ+ community, Seal Beach Police Lt. Nick Nicholas said.

The public will be able to buy a rainbow patch from the Seal Beach Police Department for $10 each. Proceeds from sales of the patch will go toward The Trevor Project.

"The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 and is focused on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ youth," Nicolas said.

Patches can are available from the police department's lobby.
