As the world's best riders congregate to battle Mother Nature at Mavericks Friday, other top surfers will take to the ocean in Seal Beach Friday for a local big-wave contest, according to the Orange County Register.
The Mike Morgan Wave of the Day surf contest will take place at 12th Street on the south side of the pier, with 8-foot-plus waves expected.Â
