Man Fatally Shot In Westminster, Purple Car Seen Fleeing Scene: Police

The Westminster Police Department said a man was found Thursday afternoon with "gunshot wounds to his face and upper body."

WESTMINSTER, CA — The Westminster Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a car that's possibly connected to the fatal shooting of a man Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses told police they saw a purple-colored, four-door sedan fleeing from the 13900 block of Cedar Street, where a man was found dead from gunshot wounds. The car is possibly from 2010 to 2014, Westminster police said.

The car was last seen traveling westbound on Westminster Boulevard from Locust Street.

Westminster police officers responded to the shooting around 3:26 p.m., where they found a man between 30 to 35 years with apparent "gunshot wounds to his face and upper body."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name is not being released pending notification of his family.
