PHOTOS: Downtown Farmers' Market Opens for the Season
Can summer be far away if the Farmers' Market has opened?
To great fanfare, the Downtown Los Altos Farmers Market opened Thursday.
And the word on the street was "Cherries."

"I had some while I was walking back to my car and they were awesome," said Gayle Hayden, director of the California Farmers Markets Association, which runs the Los Altos Farmers market. They are coming out of Linden (near Stockton) and Lodi.
Vice-Mayor Jarrett Fishpaw pulled out the ceremonial giant scissors for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, with the assistance of several young helpers.

Several new prepared food stalls were in abundance. Oaxacan Food, late of Oaxacan Kitchen that was sold in Palo Alto, Roli Roti chicken, among others were showing off their wares.
Samples were in abundance, being the first day, especially. Even the threatening skies relaxed. Summer really must be just around the corner.
