In 2003 a group of neighbors founded a non-profit organization, Trust in Education to provide assistance. Their initial project was to build a school in the village of Lalander, near the capital of Kabul. In addition to supporting educational institutions, they have expanded their functions to include health care, reconstruction and development programs.

MacKenzie has just returned from Afghanistan and will report on project status and give a firsthand assessment of how the U.S. is faring in winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people and the challenges ahead.
