LASD Board Considers Initial Facilities Offer Wednesday Night

After directing staff Monday night to prepare a draft, the Los Altos School Board meets to vote on the preliminary offer Wednesday night before the Feb. 1 deadline.

The Los Altos School Board will meet Wednesday night to take action on its preliminary facilities offer to the Bullis Charter School.

Under the Prop. 39 state-specified process, the school district must first adopt certain findings for that school year, then vote to adopt those findings.

Following that, the board will weigh the draft preliminary facilities offer to the charter school for 2013-14. The board by law must send a preliminary facilities offer to the charter school by Feb. 1, which is Friday.

The LASD board voted Monday to direct its staff to prepare a draft preliminary offer for placing Grades K-5 at Egan Jr. High School and Grades 6-8 at Blach Intermediate School. It also wanted to include some flexibility for BCS to configure grades K-4 at Egan and Grades 5-8 at Blach, should the school think it more feasible.
