Volunteer For a City Commission
In the spirit of National Day of Service, you, too, could make an ongoing commitment to serve the community by applying to on one of Los Altos' commissions, from Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission to the Senior Commission.
The City Council invites Los Altos residents to apply for appointment to various City Commissions.
Commission members serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and help address a variety ofcommunity needs. Commission members are essential to the City's commitment to developing policies and services which reflect the needs and values of the community.

In carrying out responsibilities, commission memberswill work closely with fellow commission members, staff, and the City Council – all of which play a critical role in the City organization. Applications for the following Commissions are now being accepted:
- Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission
- Environmental Commission
- Historical Commission
- Library Commission
- Parks and Recreation Commission
- Public Arts Commission
- Senior Commission
- Los Altos‐Los Altos Hills Joint Community Volunteer Service Awards Committee
Applicants must be residents of the City of Los Altos to be considered for appointment, with the exception of the Library Commission. For more information regarding the specific focus of each Commission, please visit www.losaltosca.gov.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit the City website to review agendas and minutes from recentmeetings in order to gain familiarity with current issues under consideration, as well as the advisorybody’s current goals.
The deadline to submit applications is Friday, January 25, 2013. Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Applications are to be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, located at One North San Antonio Road in Los Altos.
