SAN JOSE, CA — A family of four was displaced after a 1-alarm fire destroyed most of a garage at a home in south San Jose late Wednesday night, according to San Jose Fire Department officials.

The fire was reported by the residents of the home and several neighbors at 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Curie Drive, Fire Captain Brad Cloutier said. Significant fire charred both the garage and attic.

According to Cloutier, an aggressive attack from a second fire engine that arrived on scene saved a neighboring home from being damaged.
