Two Separate Crashes On Hwy 17 Near Santa Cruz, Los Gatos
Accidents involving a motorcyclist, overturned vehicle on Highway 17 near Santa Cruz, Los Gatos respectively round out the morning commute.

LOS GATOS, CA – With this notorious route for accidents, California Highway 17 was the place to avoid Thursday morning as two crashes involving at least one injury on opposite ends of the summit punctuated the morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP was rushed to the scene of a 9:43 a.m. call involving a motorcycle down on the northbound lane of the highway south of Laurel Road near the Glenwood cutoff on the downward slope of the Santa Cruz mountains. An ambulance and tow truck were dispatched. No further information provided yet.
Earlier at 8:15 a.m., the southbound lane was blocked by an overturned vehicle south of Redwood Estates near Los Gatos. The lane is now open, CHP said.

CHP Watch Cmdr. Alicia Moreno summed up the incidents by reminding motorists how "heavily used" this main thoroughfare is.
