2 South Bay Attempted Murder Suspects Arrested
An investigation into two stabbing attacks last week also led to the arrests of two additional suspects on weapons charges, police said.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — A South Bay Couple was arrested Friday in connection with two South Bay stabbing, authorities said.
Jason Moreno 20, and 26-year-old Irene Wofford, both of Gilroy, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remanded into custody without bail, the Gilroy Police Department said on its Facebook page.
They were arrested in connection with separate stabbing attacks on July 18 and July 20, each of which left an adult male victim with multiple stab wounds, police said. Both victims are expected to survive.

Officers at around 3 p.m. July 18 responded to the area of Las Animas Avenue and Murray Avenue on the report of a stabbing, police said.
At around 2 a.m. July 20, officers responded to the area of 7900 Monterey Street on the report of another stabbing attack.

The probe also led to the arrest of two additional suspects on unrelated weapons charges, police said.
Alexander Ayala Jr. and Angel Solorzano, both 32 of Gilroy, were arrested on July 20 after police located the suspect vehicle associated with the stabbings, police said.
Officers found two firearms during a search of the vehicle, including an unserialized “ghost gun,” according to police.
“Although it was determined that Ayala and Solorzano were not the suspects in the stabbing cases, both were arrested for weapons violations and for being prohibited from possessing any firearm,” police said.
Ayala was also on PRCS Probation (Post Release Community Supervision) for being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.
