3 Local Authors To Speak At Los Gatos Nonprofit's Fundraiser

The Los Gatos-based nonprofit AWO is hosting a literary soiree and a fundraiser on Saturday.

LOS GATOS, CA — AWO, a Los Gatos-based nonprofit, is hosting a literary soiree and a fundraiser on Saturday to support its programs that are intended to help people express their stories within their communities.

The organization aims to engage people to better understand the significance of color, class and culture on individual stories in society.

The event on Nov. 6 will take place from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the San Jose Women’s Club, and it will feature talks from three authors — Hang Thi Yen Black, Karen Anne Murray and Carmen Kennedy — who have different experiences of reaching success in different fields.

The talks will be followed by a social hour, book signing, silent auction and raffle prizes.
