Fatal South Bay Shooting Suspect Is An 83-Year-Old: Cops

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — An 83-year-old man was arrested earlier this week in connection with a fatal South Bay shooting Monday, San Jose police said.

Officers at around 6:40 p.m. Monday responded to the 2100 block of Almaden Road on a report of a person shot, police said.

Arriving officers found an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, according to police.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

This is San José’s 20th homicide of 2022.
