LOS GATOS, CA — Getting the disabled on board to go in the water without assistance can be mentally and physically challenging. They'll have their Day on the Lake Saturday at Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos through a program run by Santa Clara County Valley Medical Center's Rehabilitation Center.

The event set for 10 a.m. at the lake's Los Gatos Boat Center located at 333 Blossom Hill Road features kayaking and canoeing.

Day on the Lake is an inclusive and accessible event in which people with disabilities are given the support to participate in recreational activities on and around the water. Keeping active after sustaining a disabling condition is important to continual recovery and health.
