Authorities ID Bicyclist Struck, Killed In San Jose

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA —A bicyclist fatally struck by a pickup truck in San Jose on Sunday night has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 59-year-old Cecilio Hernandez. The San Jose resident died following a collision reported around 10 p.m. Sunday in the area of North Jackson and Alum Rock avenues, police said.

A 1990 Toyota truck hit Hernandez, who was crossing North Jackson Avenue outside of any crosswalk or intersection. He was taken to a hospital, where he died shortly afterward, according to police.

The truck driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
