Two cars collided head-on Tuesday evening at the intersection of University Avenue and Highway 9 in Los Gatos near the former Hobee's location, according to Los Gatos Patch readers.
No major injuries were reported by witnesses after the crash that occurred around 10:30 p.m.
One of the readers reporting the accident, who asked to remain anonymous, said he pulled a girl out of one of the vehicles involved as it was full of smoke and she couldn't get out.
Although the girl's car was not on fire, her door was jammed so the other driver involved, a woman, and the reader reporting the accident yanked it open and rescued the girl, he said.
"The girl was OK, but shocked. The other driver was also OK," the witness reported.
Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police arrived on scene right away and closed off the intersection to clean the debris.
"That light is dangerous as people have to yield for turning while traffic goes straight. Someone needs to do something about that intersection," the reader said.
Police weren't immediately available to answer questions about the accident, but the cars probably collided while traveling north and south on University Avenue, while one may have attempted to turn.
