Dog Stolen At Los Gatos Safeway, Police Ask For Help: Photos

A two-year-old miniature Australian shepherd named Bowie was tied up in front of the Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue when he was stolen.

LOS GATOS, CA — A woman was recorded stealing a dog in front of a Safeway in Los Gatos on Friday afternoon and police are asking for the public’s help.

The dog, a two-year-old miniature Australian shepherd named Bowie, was tied up in front of the Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue when he was taken by the woman. She was described by police as a middle-aged Caucasion female wearing “reddish shorts, a tan blousy shirt, with long reddish hair.”

She left with Bowie on his leash and drove away in a black Mercedes Benz SUV, southbound on Santa Cruz Avenue and then east onto Highway 9, according to police.

Bowie was described as approximately 15 pounds with a blue collar and white and gray fur. His right eye is light blue, and his left eye is light blue and brown.
