Driver Killed In South Bay Crash
The fatal crash was the 44th on San Jose city streets in 2020.
SAN JOSE, CA — San Jose police said Wednesday that the driver of a car that crashed into the wall of a business last week has succumbed to his injuries.
The crash was reported at 6:04 p.m. in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Savaker Street just north of Interstate Highway 280.
A 1973 green Datsun pickup truck was speeding in the area when the driver, identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 31-year-old San Jose resident Alberto Alvarez, lost control and hit the front wall of a Lincoln Avenue business.

Alvarez was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
He taken to a hospital to be treated for major injuries, and police learned on Tuesday that he had succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
