Explosive Device Leads To Arrest In San Jose
Investigators allege a San Jose man was linked to a homemade bomb discovered near an elected official's home in 2022.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man police allege built a functional explosive device discovered near the private home of an elected official in the summer of 2022 was arrested at his San Jose home earlier this week, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the investigation began on June 14, 2022, when officers were called to Delmas Avenue and Coe Avenue to examine a suspicious device. The city's bomb squad responded to the scene and determined the homemade device was functioning before disarming the explosive and taking it into evidence.
Assaults Unit detectives were tasked with completing a thorough investigation of the case, which led them to identify a suspect earlier this month. Police on Thursday named the suspect as Andres Navarro, 33, of San Jose.
