Fire Damages Los Gatos Townhouse

Santa Clara Co. Fire responded to the kitchen fire at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday. The blaze on Altura Vista was controlled in about a half hour.

LOS GATOS, CA — A Los Gatos townhouse was damaged Wednesday from a kitchen fire that broke out that morning on the first floor of the two-story unit, the Santa Clara County Fire Department reported.

No occupants were inside the building located on the 100 block of Altura Vista in Los Gatos, and no one was hurt as a result.

Firefighters responding with four engines controlled the blaze a little more than a half hour later, but not before the structure sustained extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the unit, Santa Clara County Fire added.

The fire department, which is working on securing temporary housing for the homeowner, was assisted by the Los Gatos Police Department and Pacific Gas & Electric.
