Los Gatos Mayor Rob Rennie Delays Run For County Supervisor
The redrawn districts left the new Los Gatos mayor outside the boundary of the District 1 area.

LOS GATOS, CA — Los Gatos Mayor Rob Rennie, who was planning to run for county supervisor next year, announced last month that he will delay his campaign until 2024 after redrawn districts left him outside the boundary of the District 1 area.
The new maps, approved in early December, moves Los Gatos from District 1 to District 5, which also includes the northwestern part of the county. Mike Wasserman, who represented District 1, is leaving the board of supervisors.
Rennie said in a letter to supporters that the situation was disappointing but gives him a “great head-start on a District 5 campaign,” according to the Los Gatan.

“Over the past year, I have learned a tremendous amount and developed strong support from all of you,” Rennie wrote, according to the Los Gatan. “I will carry this forward to my campaign for the new district seat.”
Rennie was appointed Los Gatos’ next mayor in December. He was elected to the council in 2014 and served as mayor four years ago. He served as vice mayor in 2021.
