Los Gatos Shooting Injures Man; Suspect At Large: SCC Sheriff's

A reporting party told Santa Clara Co. deputies that an argument at the 'Park N Ride' was heard before at least one gunshot.

LOS GATOS, CA — A man was shot on Summit Road at State Route 17 outside Los Gatos in an attempted murder case detectives need help solving, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department reported Wednesday.

Deputies were flagged down by a person in unincorporated Los Gatos Tuesday at 10:17 p.m. after the reporting party heard two people arguing outside of their vehicles at the “Park N Ride," then heard what sounded like a gunshot, the sheriff's department added.

A 33-year-old man was driven to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his right ankle by a nearby family member. The injury was considered non-life threatening.

The suspect, who is still at large, was described as a male in his 30s, standing about 5-foot, 10-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with strawberry blonde hair. He was last seen driving a silver-colored Cadillac CTS, traveling southbound on SR-17 towards Santa Cruz.

Deputies located at least one expended bullet casing at the scene of the shooting. Based on the
preliminary investigation, the incident appears to be isolated in nature.
