Postal Service Hosts Job Fair Thursday In Santa Clara County

The U.S. Postal Service is looking to add nearly 700 workers in the area and is hosting job fairs at dozens of Bay Area post offices.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Pop-up job fairs are scheduled Thursday at 48 Bay Area and Northern California post offices, including many located in Santa Clara County, as the U.S. Postal Service looks to hire nearly 700 career-oriented new employees for this holiday season and beyond.

The Postal Service has an immediate need for the following positions to be filled:

  • Mail Processing: Clerks and Mail Handlers
  • Delivery: City and Rural Carriers
  • Transportation: Tractor Trailer Operators
  • Maintenance: Mechanics, Laborer Custodian and Automotive Technician

Applicants are invited to stop by any of the Santa Clara County post offices listed below — between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. There, they take the next step toward their postal career and help the USPS deliver holiday cheer for this season and beyond. RSVP here for the job fair.

Applicants will be guided through the entire online application process by USPS staff, will hear from real employees and can then submit their applications in real time.

Those who can't make it in person may submit an application online at usps.com/careers, then watch their emails for a message from USPS to set a date to continue the application process.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, or 16 with a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions also require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver's license and a clean DMV 2-year driving history. Citizenship or permanent resident status of five years is required.
