LOS GATOS, CA — Parts of Black Road in Los Gatos will be closed for repairs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday, according to PG&E.

The road leads up the Santa Cruz Mountains from Highway 17 at Lexington Reservoir and connects to Highway 35.

The utility says that Black Road was badly hit in this week's storms with multiple power poles down, dozens of toppled trees, hundreds of limbs on power lines and many spans of snapped wires.

The road is one of many locations that over 400 PG&E crews were working on Wednesday to restore power to some 3,500 customers across the Bay Area.

Those without power include 2,800 in the South Bay, with most living at higher elevations in Los Gatos, Redwood Estates, Saratoga and others.

PG&E officials said that heavy snow or downed trees damaged infrastructure and blocked access to neighborhoods several days and that the agency was responding to power outages "safely and as quickly as possible."

Anyone without power should call 2-1-1 to connect with local resources like warming centers and food banks.
