San Jose Water Upgrades Continue Around Monte Serano
Crews will be hard at work for a few more weeks replacing several aging water mains.
SAN JOSE, CA — A pipeline replacement project will continue for two more months around Monte Sereno as San Jose Water replaces aging water mains along several streets. At times, the work could lead to brief water outages and lane closures.
"During construction, it may become necessary to temporarily interrupt some customers' water service in order to connect the new pie to existing facilities," San Jose Water writes. "Those customers will receive an additional notification a minimum of two days in advance of any planned interruption lasting more than 20 minutes."
The project got underway in August and is slated to run through the end of November, with new water mains planned along Oak Drive, Hillview Drive, Toyon Drive and Eucalyptus Drive.

"Many residents, including me, take basic utility infrastructure for granted," said Monte Sereno Mayor Bryan Mekechuk. "Periodic investments are required to prevent major problems and outages from occurring. While the infrastructure improvements underway may cause short-term inconveniences, these improvements will result in long-term safety and increased reliability.
