SAN JOSE, CA — A man accused of shooting someone inside a San Jose hotel in January was arrested this week in Santa Clara, according to police.

Officers fielded the initial shooting call at a hotel on North 4th Street around 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 30. Police said they found a man with at least one gunshot wound and officers began emergency aid while waiting for medics to arrive. The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but eventually stabilized, police said.

Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. The alleged shooter was identified Thursday as Fernando Macias, 29, of San Jose. Officers moved to arrest Macias Tuesday at a hotel in Santa Clara, and he was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted homicide.
