SJFD Investigates Fire, Explosions At Storage Facility

A fast-moving fire at a San Jose storage facility drew a three-alarm response Wednesday evening.

SAN JOSE, CA — Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a massive fire Wednesday evening at a Public Storage facility that spurred a three-alarm emergency response and led to explosions.

Fire crews rushed to the scene near Blossom Hill Road and Cottle Road around 6:30 p.m. as police worked to close down roads in the area. Within an hour, the fire department had upgraded the call to a three-alarm response.

According to The Mercury News, firefighters heard explosions coming from the facility shortly after 7 p.m. but were unsure what caused them. The fire continued to spread through storage units. No injuries were reported from the fire, and its cause remains under investigation.
