Solo Vehicle Crash Sparked Fire In Los Gatos

One structure was threatened, and the driver was injured — but fire crews contained the blaze in about a half hour.

LOS GATOS, CA — A vehicle that careened over a 100-foot embankment in the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space sparked a fire Friday night that spread into brush in the area of Shannon Road and Santa Rosa Drive, the Santa Clara County Fire Department reported.

The crash and fire called in at 4:24 p.m. injured the driver, who crews brought back to the road.

One structure was threatened by the brush fire, which was contained in about a half hour.
